Rabbi Moshe Elefant, Chief Operating Officer of the Orthodox Union Kosher Division, will be a featured speaker at the Kosherfest show, which will be held Tuesday, November 15 and Wednesday, November 16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
Rabbi Elefant will be speaking on the second day, November 16, as part of a panel on Kosher Food Processing: Coping with Modern Day Challenges of Food Production.
The panel, which will also feature Mark Overland of Cargill, an international food production company; and Rabbi Sholem Fishbane, Kashrut Administrator of the Chicago Rabbinical Council, will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in room 1C04.
Rabbi Elefant and his fellow panelists will be discussing:
- How advances in food technology have created many new and exciting opportunities for food consumption.
- How this new era has been particularly challenging for kashrut.
- The remarkable story of how technology and kosher have not only coexisted, but also how they actually thrive together.
