Rabbi Moshe E. Bomzer has served as spiritual leader of congregations in Hollywood, FL, Toronto, ON and Albany, NY over the past 33 years. He received his rabbinical ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University after pursuing Talmudic studies at Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Forest Hills, NY and Jerusalem, as well as at Yeshiva Ner Yisroel in Baltimore.
Rabbi Bomzer has been representing OU Kosher in New York’s Capitol District since his arrival. In addition to his congregational duties, Rabbi Bomzer has headed the Vaad HaKashruth of the Capital District, which cooperates closely with OU Kosher. Together with his staff of mashgichim, he has overseen the OU Kosher programs at Fortitech, Adirondack Beverages, Mountainside Dairy, and the yoshon program at Horizon Milling’s operation in the Port of Albany.
In March, 2008 Rabbi Bomzer hosted an “OU Kosher Coming to Communities” program with Rabbi Eliyahu Safran and Rabbi Yisroel Bendelstein, who visited the area’s local schools and synagogues, nursing residences, college kitchen facilities, as well as the Fortitech Schenectady plant.
Rabbi Bomzer is married to the former Rochel Burman and is the father of six and the grandfather of seven.
