OU Kosher will present a pre-Passover webinar for rabbis, Tuesday March 18 (two days after Purim) at 2:30 p.m. EDT. According to Rabbi Eliyahu Safran, “The webinar will be specifically geared for rabbis, their special concerns and interests. As the world leader in kosher education, OU Kosher feels a special responsibility to disseminate Pesach related information and knowledge to rabbis leading our communities.” The webinar will be open to all rabbonim with pre-registration at http://www.ou.org/pre-pesach-webinar/. The pre-registration link / form also allows for rabbis to submit their questions prior to the webinar. Rabbis who do not pre-register will be able to log in during the webinar.
OU Kosher has previously presented pre-Passover programs for rabbis, but this is the first webinar, which expands the audience from rabbis in the New York area only to those across North America and around the world.
OU Kosher halachic posek Rav Hershel Schachter will answer general questions, such as bedikas chametz if you are away; heter mechiras chametz; does aspartame pose a problem?” etc. Rabbi Dov Schreier, OU Kosher rabbinic coordinator and food service specialist, will discuss Passover food service standards and policies; and Rabbi Gavriel Price, OU Kosher rabbinic coordinator and ingredient specialist, will address ingredient issues. Rabbi Eli Gersten, OU Kosher halachic recorder, will serve as moderator and will respond to other Passover–related questions and concerns.
The program is being arranged by Rabbi Eli Eleff, rabbinic coordinator and consumer relations administrator of OU Kosher.
The OU Passover Hotline will be available again this year for all consumers. It will be available at 212-613-8241.
