Rabbi Yisroel Bendelstein

Rabbinic Coordinator

Rabbi Yisroel Bendelstein has served as a Rabbinic Coordinator at the Orthodox Union since 2000 administering the kosher program for many OU kosher certified commercial bakeries. 

 As a veteran lecturer and writer, Rabbi Bendelstein’s radio talk entitled, “Ingredient Panels: Unraveling the Mysteries” https://outorah.org/p/7370 , was the very first to air in February 2006 as part of the popular OU Kosher Tidbits educational program. Rabbi Bendelstein authored the OU Manual for the Baking Industry and has contributed featured articles for kosher bakery certification to the OU publications of Behind the Union Symbol and Jewish Action.  

Rabbi Bendelstein attended Yeshiva University in New York City, where he received his rabbinic ordination and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He lives with his wife and children in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY further teaching Torah and Jewish educational classes.
