Cherry Gin Punch

Makes 6 quarts.

This punch packs a punch so drink sparingly.


6 cups water

2 cups sugar

1 (48 ounce) can pineapple juice

1 (48 ounce) can grapefruit juice

1 (8 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, undrained

2 cups gin

1 (33 7/8 ounce) bottle ginger ale, chilled


Combine the water and sugar in large saucepan. Bring to boil and stir until dissolved; cool. Combine sugar mixture, juices and cherries, chill. In a punch bowl combine the sugar mixture with the gin and ginger ale just before serving.
