H.R. Ewell, Inc.

H. R. Ewell, Inc. was founded in 1946 as a local Lancaster County bulk milk hauler, transporting product to Philadelphia and New York City; in the next few years service was expanded to bulk loads of liquid sugar from the refineries in Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City.

As demand grew for sanitary transportation, H. R. Ewell began to diversify in scope and equipment, adding pneumatic and food grade dump trailers, and by the mid ‘80s had a fleet of tanks transporting vegetable oils, liquid chocolate, liquid and dry sugar, corn syrup, flour and starch.

Today, the company remains privately owned with the corporate offices located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. As the largest bulk food transporter in the Eastern United States, Ewell’s service centers and customer base reaches from New England to the Midwest, operating from six locations with over 350 modern, kosher certified trailers serving the food industry.
