Kosher Alert Feridies Honey Cheddar

Issue:

Unauthorized OU

A limited quantity of Feridies Honey Cheddar 6 o’ Clock Crunch snack mix were packed in containers with an unauthorized OU symbol. This Honey Cheddar product is not certified by the Orthodox Union and corrective measures were implemented.

Issue:

Some labels are missing the “D” designation and bear the plain OU instead. The product is clearly dairy, as listed on the label. Corrective measures have been implemented.

Mislabeled Product

Winn Dixie Woven Wheat Crackers are certified by the Orthodox Union as a kosher pareve product. Some packaging mistakenly bear an OU P symbol. This product is not kosher for Passover. The mislabeled products are being withdrawn from the marketplace.

Some jars of Sera Grape Molasses mistakenly bear an unauthorized OU. This particular Sera product is not certified by the Orthodox Union. Corrective actions have been implemented.

Missing D Dairy designation

Springfield Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips are certified as an OU-D Dairy product. The product contains milk derivatives. Recently, some bags were printed with a plain OU, without the D Dairy designation. The mislabeled products are sold primarely in Southern California. The mislabeled products are being withdrawn from the marketplace.

Manhattan, an alcoholic drink manufactured by Francovich Distillers, bears an unauthorized OU symbol. The Orthodox Union does not certify Francovich Distillers. Corrective action has been implemented.

Castella Zesty Pepps Stuffed With Garlic Herb Cream Cheese is certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU-D Dairy product. Some labels mistakenly bear the OU symbol without the ‘D’ Dairy designation. This product is sold at Costco. It contains dairy, as clearly indicated in the product name. Corrective measures have been implemented.

Issue: Missing D – Dairy designation

Wegmans Gluten Free Double Chocolate Brownie Mix is certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU-D dairy product. Some products were labeled with an OU mark, without the D – Dairy designation. This product was withdrawn from the marketplace. Consumers who purchased this product prior to the withdrawal should consider it a dairy product.
