The Following OU Kosher Advisories and Alerts were released by the Orthodox Union's Kosher Division on the date indicated.

Company: Chocolate Inn, Freeport NY
The Orthodox Union certified a variety of Chocolate Inn products. Due to changes in procedures, the Orthodox Union is now certifying only the plain chocolates (various shapes). The Orthodox Union no longer certifies Chocolate Inn’s other products (such as nuts, chocolate covered nuts, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered cookies, chocolate gift boxes, mints and gift packs).
Paskez Golden Harvest Honey Oat Crunch Cereal has a printed statement on the side panel to make the bracha HaAdama on the flakes and HaEtz on the Almonds. The Orthodox Union’s position is that only the Bracha Mezonos should be recited on the entire mixture.
Products: Mozzarella Cheese - variable weight packs
Company: Wegmans, Rochester NY
The Orthodox Union certifies Cappiello Mozzarella Cheese when packed at the factory. Some Wegmans stores obtained 5 pound blocks of OU-D certified cheese, cut it up into weight variable sizes, wrapped them and labeled them with Cappiello labels that bear an OU D symbol. The Orthodox Union did not certify the re-packing process, and the OU on those labels are unauthorized. Corrective measures have been implemented.
This alert does not pertain to the Cappiello twisted mozzarella which are wrapped and labeled under the Orthodox Union’s supervision.

Company: Kellogg's Snacks, Battle Creek MI
Missing D – Dairy Designation
The Orthodox Union certifies Kellogg’s Special K White Fudge Dipped Pretzels as an OU D – Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated on the ingredient and allergen statements. Some packaging mistakenly bear a plain OU without the D -Dairy designation. Corrective actions have been implemented.
Products: All Salads, Tahini, Chumus varieties under the Mediteranee or Prestige brands
Company: Mediteranee Food, Netherlands
The Orthodox Union does not certify Mediteranee Food in The Netherlands. Some of their salads bear an unauthorized OU mark. These products were sold in Slovakia. Corrective actions are being implemented.
Products: Ranch Flavored Sunflower Seeds
Company: Aldi Inc., Batavia IL
Missing D – Dairy Designation
Sunflower Grove Ranch Flavored Sunflower Seeds are certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU D – Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients, as indicated in the ingredients and allergens statements. Some packaging was printed without the D – Dairy designation. Corrective actions have been implemented.
Products: 9" Deep Dish Pie Shell UPC: 70427 13709
Company: Mrs. Smith’s Bakeries
The OU symbol was inadvertently left off the most recent printing of packaging. The product and UPC listed above is kosher pareve and certified by the OU, even without the OU symbol. Future packaging will bear the OU symbol.

Company: CVS Inc. Woonsocket RI
Missing D-Dairy Designation
The Orthodox Union certifies Gold Emblem White Fudge Covered Pretzels and Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels as OU D-Dairy products. These products contain milk, as indicated in the allergens and ingredients statements. Some packaging was mistakenly printed with a plain OU symbol without the D-Dairy designation. Corrective measures have been implemented.
Company: Strauss Dairies Israel
Strauss Dairies’ Milky puddings with the OU-D symbol are certified by the Orthodox Union for year round use only and not for Passover. Rabbanut Nahariya certifies this product as kosher for Passover for those who consume Kitniyot on Passover.
Products: Fruit Flavored Antacid
Company: Target Corporation, Minneapolis MN
Target Fruit Flavored Antacid contains carmine, an ingredient that the Orthodox Union treats as non-kosher. Some of those antacids were mistakenly labeled with an OU symbol. Corrective action has been implemented.
