A Tribute to Nostalgia and Good Times Past

Verena Street Coffee is named after the quiet neighborhood nestled in the Mississippi River valleys of Dubuque, Iowa where we grew up. Five houses lined this street and our extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents were our only neighbors.

In the early 2000s, Verena Street was removed for highway expansion. Erased by the progress of modern development, the narrow lane called “Verena Street” survives only in our memories. Today, countless cars pass over the spot where we once played on the swing set our grandfather built.

Hoping to recapture the excitement of our childhood, Verena Street lives on as the namesake of our craft roasted coffee. Although we can no longer walk down Verena Street, it is a place we can once again call home.

About Us

Roasting Solutions, LLC d/b/a Verena Street Coffee Co. is a privately-held, family-owned organization founded in December 2010. We roast and package our coffees at our state-of-the-art facility in Dubuque, Iowa.

Verena Street coffee can currently be found in over 750 grocery stores, club stores, warehouse stores and mass merchandisers in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and surrounding areas and online.

Our Coffee

We have specially selected an optimal blend of beans from different origins for each of our coffee blends. This creates a unique flavor profile and a combination of natural bean characteristics that cannot be duplicated in any one type of single-origin coffee bean. Many coffee shops and coffee roasters procure common bean origins with fancy-sounding names and simply roast them to a specific level. We take extra steps to roast several different origins to different roast levels and combine them in a blend to create a more full-bodied and complex flavor. We typically combine 3 to 4 different bean profiles together into a blend to create a one-of-a-kind flavor that cannot be found anywhere else. We sometimes even take a specific bean origin and roast it to two different levels before combining it into a blend of other beans to provide a more nuanced flavor and aroma. Our Difference

We purchase our beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and promote the rights and well-being of workers, their families and communities. The standards conserve biodiversity, ensure that soils, waterways and wildlife habitat is protected and that farm workers enjoy decent housing, access to medical care and schools for their children. Farms must commit to a process of continuous improvement and are audited each year to maintain their certification. By shopping for products bearing the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal, you are supporting a healthy environment and helping to improve the quality of life for farm families.

We are Kosher certified by the Orthodox Union, the world’s most trusted and recognized Kosher certification. Through this certification, we can reach a broader market and appease to more coffee drinkers. Being a family-owned company, we understand the importance of being recognizably Kosher certified.
