Over twenty years ago, Guido Tremolini and Simona Faroni moved from Italy to the United States with a passion for gelato and a desire to achieve the American dream. But they forgot one thing – they didn’t know the language! They imported their Italian equipment only to find out it was not approved for use in the country. For fourteen strenuous months, they worked tirelessly by day to get their equipment up to code, and took language classes by night. After overcoming relentless obstacles, they became the first manufacturer in the United States to receive approval from both the FDA and USDA to produce gelato and sorbetto using authentic Italian equipment for wholesale distribution.
Today, G.S. Gelato is the leading manufacturer of gelato, sorbet, soft serve and plant-based frozen dessert for foodservice and retail, serving several major private label customers and foodservice operators with nationwide distribution. Their 33,000 square feet state-of-the-art manufacturing facility resides in sunny Fort Walton Beach, Florida, maintaining an SQF Level 3 certification and Kosher certification under the supervision of the Orthodox Union/Kashruth Division.
