BRIGHTOL
Most kosher consumers are familiar with the Oppenheimer USA company, known for its high-quality lines of foods and household products. But Oppenheimer has introduced an exciting new addition to its product line: BRIGHTOL toothpaste and mouthwash. These products are certified kosher for Passover and year-round.
Many Jewish consumers don’t normally verify the kashrus of oral hygiene products, relying on opinions stating that since these products aren’t ingested, it’s okay to be lenient. But many rabbis believe that, on the contrary, we ought to be careful: Some mouthwashes and toothpastes contain non-kosher glycerin and flavors, and the user may inadvertently swallow small amounts of them. Rabbi Yisrael Belsky zt”l said it is preferable to use only kosher-certified toothpaste and mouthwash,” says Rabbi Moshe Elefant, the Chief Operating Officer of OU Kosher. “If that’s true year-round, then it’s all the more applicable over Pesach, when people are especially vigilant about kashrus.” Rabbi Elefant was involved in overseeing the kashrus supervision of the Brightol products, which are also certified with the Badatz Jerusalem hechsher.
In addition to seeking the highest standards in kashrus, the Oppenheimer company has always been careful to choose ingredients of the highest caliber. Even their candies are produced using only top quality ingredients! The same approach obtains
with their oral hygiene products. “When Oppenheimer USA wanted to create the mouthwashes, their chemists spent over 12 months developing a colorant that would be healthy for the customers,” a company executive says.
The BRIGHTOL toothpastes and mouthwashes have a bright, refreshing flavor that leaves the mouth feeling clean and tingly. Consumers can choose between several types of mint flavor, from milder to stronger, as well as a “Mountain Fresh” flavor of toothpaste. They’re manufactured in aspotless pharmaceutical facility, where in-house chemists created scientifically tested formulas to eliminate germs in the mouth and fight plaque and cavities, as well as whiten and polish teeth to a pearly shine. In terms of quality and effectiveness, this puts BRIGHTOL products on a par with theleading popular, but non-kosher-certified, brands of toothpaste and mouthwash–if not higher.
The BRIGHTOL line is also ideal for Jewish facilities looking for kosher products for their clients, such as hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. But any Jewish family looking for the finest in kosher and kosher-for-Passover toothpaste and mouthwash would do well to give these outstanding products a try.
