Products: Sour Cream & Onions Potato Crisps
Company: Foodhold USA LLC, Landover MD
Missing D – Dairy designation
The Orthodox Union certifies Foodhold’s Sour Cream & Onion Potato Crisps as an OU D -Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated in the ingredient and allergen statements. Some packaging was printed without the D – Dairy designation. This product is sold in some Stop & Shop and Giant stores. Corrective measures have been implemented.

Company: Santa Barbara Pistachio Company, Santa Barbara CA
Santa Barbara Company’s Pistachio Pesto bears an unauthorized OU mark. The Orthodox Union does not certify this product. Corrective measures have been implemented.
Products: Cheddar Rice Crisps
Company: Foodtown Inc. Iselin NJ
Missing D – Dairy designation
Foodtown Cheddar Rice Crisps are certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU D – Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients, as indicated in the ingredients and allergen statements. Some packaging display a plain OU without the D – Dairy designation. Corrective action has been implemented.
Products: Marshmallow Mateys Cereal
Company: MOM Brands, Lakeville MN
The Orthodox Union does not certify Malt O Meal Marshmallow Mateys cereal and the OU symbol does not appear on this product. Some promotional signs placed next to this product mistakenly have an OU symbol. The signs are being replaced.
Products: Shirataki Noodles - Angel Hair, Fettuccini, Rice Pearl
Company: Skinny Dip Noodles, Las Vegas, NV
The Orthodox Union does not certify any Skinny Dip Shirataki Noodles products. Some of their products bear an unauthorized OU. Corrective measures are being implemented.
Company: Chocolate Inn, Freeport NY
The Orthodox Union certified a variety of Chocolate Inn products. Due to changes in procedures, the Orthodox Union is now certifying only the plain chocolates (various shapes). The Orthodox Union no longer certifies Chocolate Inn’s other products (such as nuts, chocolate covered nuts, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered cookies, chocolate gift boxes, mints and gift packs).
Paskez Golden Harvest Honey Oat Crunch Cereal has a printed statement on the side panel to make the bracha HaAdama on the flakes and HaEtz on the Almonds. The Orthodox Union’s position is that only the Bracha Mezonos should be recited on the entire mixture.
Products: Mozzarella Cheese - variable weight packs
Company: Wegmans, Rochester NY
The Orthodox Union certifies Cappiello Mozzarella Cheese when packed at the factory. Some Wegmans stores obtained 5 pound blocks of OU-D certified cheese, cut it up into weight variable sizes, wrapped them and labeled them with Cappiello labels that bear an OU D symbol. The Orthodox Union did not certify the re-packing process, and the OU on those labels are unauthorized. Corrective measures have been implemented.
This alert does not pertain to the Cappiello twisted mozzarella which are wrapped and labeled under the Orthodox Union’s supervision.
Products: White Fudge Dipped Pretzels
Company: Kellogg's Snacks, Battle Creek MI
Missing D – Dairy Designation
The Orthodox Union certifies Kellogg’s Special K White Fudge Dipped Pretzels as an OU D – Dairy product. This product contains dairy ingredients as indicated on the ingredient and allergen statements. Some packaging mistakenly bear a plain OU without the D -Dairy designation. Corrective actions have been implemented.
Products: All Salads, Tahini, Chumus varieties under the Mediteranee or Prestige brands
Company: Mediteranee Food, Netherlands
The Orthodox Union does not certify Mediteranee Food in The Netherlands. Some of their salads bear an unauthorized OU mark. These products were sold in Slovakia. Corrective actions are being implemented.
