| CREAM CHEESE HAMENTASHEN (dairy) | |||

Ingredients2 cups flour, sifted
|
Instructions
In the bowl of an electric mixer combine the butter and cream cheese. Mix until well blended. Gradually add in the flour, mixing and make a ball of dough. Place the dough in a glass bowl, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. In a bowl combine the poppy seeds, walnuts, raisins and honey. It may take a little more, or a little less, than about 8 oz of honey; use enough to hold the mixture together. Preheat oven to 350 and grease the cookie sheets. Roll out the dough (not too thin) and cut into 3-inch squares. Fill each square with about 1 tablespoon and fold the dough in half to make a triangle. Bake on prepared cookie sheets until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Serving Size
Makes about 2 dozen.
Notes
This recipe asks you to use squares to make the triangle shape. Unusual, yes, but they taste just as delicious as using the traditional circle to make hamentashen.
