Onion Soup

Soup with optional grated cheese
1 lb onion, sliced
4 tbsp oil
1 cup white wine
6 cups water
2 tbsp parve bouillon powder
Brown onion in hot oil. Add wine, water and bouillon powder. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer about ½ hour. If using for dairy, you may sprinkle each bowl of soup with grated cheese.
