Cola Barbequed Chicken

24 ounces chili sauce
16 ounces Cola (which ever brand you prefer but NO Diet)
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 cup chopped peeled onion
4 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
Several drops hot pepper sauce, to taste
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
5 pounds chicken drumsticks and thighs

Instructions:

In a saucepan combine all the ingredients except the chicken. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes and remove it from the heat. Cool completely and then place the chicken in several resealable plastic bags. Pour the sauce over the chicken, seal and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Remove the chicken from the marinade, discard the marinade and grill the chicken over a medium heat until done throughout.
