Cherry Almond Sauce for Peach Puff Pancakes

1/2 stick Butter or Margarine
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract
In a sauce pan combine the cherry pie filling, butter or margarine, brown sugar and corn syrup. Heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture is blended and bubbly. Remove from heat, add almond extract. Mix well and pour the sauce over the pancake. Optional - Garnish with slivered almonds.
