CHS became the world’s largest confection sunflower processor when it acquired Agway Sunflower in Grandin, N.D. and combined this operation with its existing sunflower distribution business in 2002. CHS acquired its own roasting facility in Fargo, N.D. in December of 2003 to further expand operations. The Grandin facility began business operations in 1971, and expanded into a new operations building in 1997. Now combined with CHS’ Hazel, Mn. facility, CHS is a leading worldwide distributor of Agway brand sunflower, kernel, and millet products.
