AGAS VE'TAPUACH is the oldest kosher Italian restaurant in Jerusalem and its proprietors Gionatan Ottolenghi from Milan and his wife Miriam from Rome, prepare and serve genuine Italian home-style food. Gionatan is well known for his friendly welcome – singing Italian chazanut and opera arias while meticulously caring for his delectable dishes. Fresh pasta made purely from eggs and flour is prepared on the premises every day, as well as pizzas, lasagna, eggplant-parmigian, fish and a wide variety of crepes. Gionatan learned his trade mainly from his grandmother, who as a part of Italy's first generation of post-ghetto Jews in the late nineteenth century, prepared dishes that characterized the difference between Jewish Italian flavors and the conventional Italian cuisine. AGAS VE'TAPUAH can comfortably host all kinds of occasions including: weddings, sheva b'rachot, bar and bat mitzvas, briths, birthdays and whatever celebrations come to mind. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building in Kikar Safra, on Jaffa Road within Jerusalem's Municipal buildings compound. It is only 20 minutes walk from the Kotel and 5 minutes from Jaffa Gate. Prices are moderate and on weekdays you can order a tempting business lunch.
